Bridalveil Falls

At this time of year the falls do not have much water, but they are still beautiful. The bottom is all rocks that were exposed because of the lack of water. Mark climbed most of the way to the falls. Marla and I went pretty far, too. She is an incredible climber - she did better than a lot of the adults that were going up.

This rock was like a slide.

Mark making his way up the rocks.

The view from as high as Marla and I went. You can't see where we started from here.

Management Fire

On our third day, they were doing a controlled management fire in the valley. They planned on burning 38 acres. The fire was to control the underbrush and help the forest. It made quite a bit of smoke, but most of it was lifted out of the valley by the wind.

Yosemite Village

A quick stop for lunch.

Figuring out what to do next.

Marla cooking up something special.

On our last day at Yosemite, we found a nice beach on the Merced River and spent the day there. The water was very clear and cold.

Marla brought her beach wagon.

She found a boat for the dolls.

By us the water was very shallow.

Mark found a spot on the river that was deep.

It was a bit of a climb to get out there.

He decided to dive in.

Nap time under the ponderosa pines.

Marla was very proud of herself for walking to this island.

Views from our little beach.
