I met Mike in HS he had a 4 wheel drive truck with a tube CB radio. There was no such thing as an SUV or cell phones in the mid 70's but Mike kinda had one. He loved to just get in it and go. God knows where you would end up but it was always in the woods, there was bound to be a keg there, and fun times all around. Mike never really fit in well in HS. Their was "mountain man" in his blood not the blood of a natural bourgeois hedonist suburbanite like me. I loved Mike. He was so funny in his woodsy ways. He would actually say things like that root can be used for "such and such", like any of us were going to yank it up and do something with it at future date. After HS Mike did a bunch of stuff but, I don't think that he was all that happy until he pulled up his stakes and moved out into the Pennsylvania Mountains. Now he and his wife raise animals, and food, and grow flowers. He, his wife and kids are some of the most pleasant and happy people I know. It has been and honor and a privilege to know them. I look forward to seeing them soon.
